Tech Tool of the Month: Google Home Mini & Max

Not to be outdone by the home automated pioneers at Amazon, the hardworking crew at Google have some new tech toys to show off this fall as well. The brand new Google Home Mini and Google Home Max were unveiled last week, and are sure to get fans of home voice automation and excellent sound quality excited. Here are the details about our Tech Tool(s) of the Month for October.

Google Home Mini

The Home Mini is a direct competitor to Amazon’s Echo Dot, and while their features are similar, the look of the Home Mini has a leg up on the Dot. It’s $49 and available for pre-order already and comes in three colors. You’ll have no trouble hearing podcasts or news and weather updates in a medium-sized room, and can always stream music as well, although, for the best experience listening to tunes, you’ll want to consider the Mini’s big brother Google Home Max.

Google Home Max

Speaking of the Max. This brand new item features a stereo speaker with two 4.5-inch woofers and a couple of tweeters. There are touch controls on top for volume, but the voice automation is how you’ll typically control it. It supports Bluetooth or Google Cast and can also hook up to a 3.5mm aux jack on the back. It comes in black or white, will look great in any room, and is priced at $399.
