You might have missed it, but the 2018 Toy Fair took place this past weekend in New York. Once again, some of the coolest new toys were unveiled by hundreds of companies, and today we wanted to let you know about some of our favorites.
The Star Wars franchise continues to grow under the Disney umbrella, and with another film on the way soon, the toy line is expanding as well. The Han Solo film is the next one up, and there are tons of toys we would love to get our hands on. Gizmodo has a wrap up of all the new goodies here, including the Vintage Collection, which is Hasbro’s line of 3.75″ tall figures that are a lot like the Star Wars toys you probably collected as a kid.
Harry Potter Wands
The Wizarding World was represented at Toy Fair again this year in the form of these interactive Wizard Training Wands. The wands have a motion sensor that tracks movements as you master the motions needed to simulate 11 different “kid-friendly” spells. They also have sound effects and multiple LED lights on the wand’s handle that will light up in different patterns for the various spells. Learn more about the toys over at CNET.
Of course, there are a bunch of new LEGO sets to talk about as well from Toy Fair. Some of the ones you’ll be hearing the most about include LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Great Hall, a 9 inch tall Lego Marvel Super Heroes The Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition, and a 1,414 piece Star Wars set called Kessel Run Millennium Falcon. And with a new Jurassic World film on the way, there are some great looking Fallen Kingdom sets you’ll want to check out as well.
Hot Wheels Augmoto
This legendary toy company might be celebrating their 50th birthday, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t ready for the future. Augmoto uses Augmented Reality to bring video game play to life with a physical track set. It’s a 6 foot wide set, with double wide banked curves and crossover double loop that you control with your smartphone. Find out more from Hot Wheels.
