Mother’s Day is this weekend and it’s a great opportunity for Moms to be appreciated. Being a Mom can be a mostly thankless job, and we should all take the time to appreciate our mothers, or the mothers of our children. But let’s be honest, kid’s aren’t the best at gift giving, and it can be a big blind spot for them even into their teenage years. So here are a handful of ideas that your kids can create for Mom this Mother’s Day.
Cook Dinner For Mom: I wrote about this here a couple years ago and I think it’s still a great idea. Let your kids pick the meal courses and then create a meal that Mom doesn’t have to make, or clean up. More about our family experience with this here.
Personalized Tote Bags: Your kids can create a personalized tote bag for Mom really easily. And if Mom carries a tote around already, this can become a great replacement that reminds her of the little guys every time she uses it. Details from Nifty Mom.
Picture Frame Flower Vase: Mom loves flowers, and she loves her kids, so this combo gift makes tons of sense for Mother’s Day. Check out how to make your own from i heart arts and crafts.
Thumbprint Family Tree: I really like how this one turns out, and it looks really easy too. If the kids make this for Mom and have it framed, I’m betting she never gets rid of it. Find out how to make your own from day2day Supermom.
Movie Night Gift Box: One thing Mom’s really appreciate is sharing a moment with the kids. So this year, have the little ones put together a gift box with a movie or gift card, and some fun treats for Mom. Of course, Mom will share, so they will probably enjoy putting this together.
