Family Movies Coming To Netflix in April 2018

Every month, streaming services like Netflix add a bunch of new movie options for subscribers. Here at FamilyTech, we take a look at the incoming films and pick some that look like a good fit for family viewing. And you know this already, but keep it age appropriate, just like you would with the chores you dole out. Here are some choices for April 2018.

April 1

The Iron Giant (1999)
Rating: PG
IMDB Parent’s Guide

This classic from 1999 is back on Netflix in April. In case you aren’t already familiar with The Iron Giant, it’s a film about a young boy that befriends a giant robot from outer space that a paranoid government agent wants to destroy. This one really holds up even though it’s nearly 20 years old.

Despicable Me 3 (2017)
Rating: PG
IMDB Parent’s Guide

The third film in the Despicable Me series was released last year and it’s hitting Netflix in April. Fans of the movie series will already know what to expect, but the twist in this new one has Gru meeting his long-lost (more successful and nice) twin brother Dru. Don’t worry, there are plenty of Minions.

Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2016)
Rating: PG-13
IMDB Parent’s Guide

Another Pirates film is coming to Netflix in April, and this time it’s Dead Man’s Chest, originally released in 2016. Captain Jack Sparrow owes a debt to Davy Jones and must find Davy Jones’ heart to save himself. A little scary, but great for your older kiddos and parents on family night.

Looney Tunes Back In Action (2003)
Rating: PG
IMDB Parent’s Guide

In 2003, this return to the big screen for the Looney Tunes crew was kind of a big deal. Now, 15 years later, it’s streaming on Netflix for you and your family. The plot centers around the crew’s search for a man’s missing father and the mythical Blue Monkey diamond.

Speed Racer (2008)
Rating: PG
IMDB Parent’s Guide

Have you introduced your kids to Speed Racer? This 2008 film might be the best way to do it, and it’s hitting Netflix in April. Speed is a young driver that aspires to be champion of the racing world with the help of his family and high-tech Mach 5. Great for kids that love cars, it’s worth cueing up for the whole family.
