5 Podcasts Your Kids Will Love

Late last year we asked the question; Why Aren’t Your Kids Listening To Podcasts? Well, the question remains if that didn’t nudge you into the world of audio learning and entertainment. But if you are a regular listener, or just need to get started with a few suggestions, here are some of our favorites for your kids. And truth be told, parents will probably enjoy most if not all of these choices as well.

Check out the list below, and if you have a favorite that you listen to with your family, recommend it in our comment section.

The Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel

This might be the best podcast for kids around right now. A Peabody finalist and nominee for Webby Awards in the Drama and Sound Design categories, Mars Patel’s first season was incredibly entertaining. It’s a scripted drama that is perfect for kids 8-14 and has a good enough story to entertain parents too. Season 2 just started, so get caught up quick as the new adventures unfold!

TED Talks Kids + Family

TED Talks aren’t just for Mom & Dad anymore. This fun extension of the incredibly popular series has a specific focus on kids and family. They are videos, but the audio versions are a great listen as well. Topics range from “A young scientist’s quest for clean water” to “Easy DIY projects for kid engineers” and a lot more. Grab an episode and prepare to be inspired.

But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids

Kids love to ask questions, and sometimes it’s exhausting for parents. This podcast might be a great solution for everyone involved and might answer some questions that your kids have been asking. Kids ask questions and the podcast hosts find the answers. Some recent topics that look interesting include “Are Yawns Really Contagious?” “How Do Popcorn Kernels Pop?” and “How Is Chocolate Made?” Adults can even use their smartphones memo function or an audio app to record your kid’s question and submit for future episode consideration.
