An American Tail (1986)
A family of Russian mice decides to move west, but one of the youngest, Fievel, is separated from his parents on the way to America. They head west with the belief that America is cat-free, but quickly learn otherwise. Fievel searches for his family makes new friends and dodges cats along the way in the first film in this successful franchise.
Cool Runnings (1993)
Here is a Disney classic that you should introduce to your whole family. The story centers around a Jamaican sprinter who is disqualified from the Olympics. He decides his only path to Olympic glory is to form the first ever Jamaican bobsled team. It’s funny and holds up really well even though it first hit theaters nearly 25 years ago.
Kubo & The Two Strings (2016)
Nominated last year for two Oscars, this animated gem is coming to Netflix in April. The film features a boy named Kubo who is tasked with locating a magical suit of armor worn by his late father, a legendary Samurai warrior, to help him defeat a vengeful spirit from the past.
Disney’s Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993)
Here’s another Disney classic from 1993 that hits Netflix this month. It features three pets who are left behind when their family goes on vacation. To find answers, the pets set out on an adventure across the country to find their family. They travel through dangerous areas to find their family while their family is searching for them at the same time. A great family flick for animal lovers that will make for a fun choice for your crew.
The Secret Life of Pets (2016)
Set in a Manhattan apartment building, the life of a terrier named Max is turned upside down when his owner brings home a new pet named Duke. But they quickly have to put their quarrels behind when they find out that an adorable white bunny named Snowball is building an army of lost pets determined to take revenge. An excellent, brand new option for family night!
